Forest Gap 3 Friday March 19th at the Clubhouse, The Forest Gate Hotel

The third Forest Gap Music Night was a lot of fun and a great success. 'Third Eye' were a late cancellation which was a real shame, but we hope to see them perform at the Gap soon. Spiral Compass headlined and they were awesome! A big thank you goes out to Ryan and the guys, especially the bassist who was brought in especially for this gig. Their virtuosity and musicianship was sheer class. The band performed mostly their own tunes together with one or two covers. We would love to have them back - absolutely brilliant, you've raised the bar guys!

In support were 'For One Night Only' playing covers of old rock classics, and solo acts Casey [first time performer at the Gap - well done, you were great], Richard and Angus [of course!].

Some of you may have noticed that as well as the quality of the playing there was an improvement in the over all sound. Well, this was because Forest Gap have purchased their own PA system with monitors and everything!It had its first run-out on Friday and it was great. Thanks to Robin for being the sound guy. Also cheers to Angus and Tim for being the efficient hosts/comperes for the night [people you were lucky, Tim was going to wrap a few of you up as parcels....seriously he'd brought paper, strings, scissors - everything!]. The night ended with a DJ set from John.

Thanks to the Forest Gate Hotel, especially the landlord Kelvin for all his encouragement and support.

Forest Gap 3 Friday March 19th at the Clubhouse, The Forest Gate Hotel

The line-up has been confirmed for the next bi-monthly Forest Gap music event. Forest Gap is a music night of quality local talent which aims to develop a dynamic music scene in the East London area, particularly focusing on indie/alternative/rock music.
On the bill for this next extravaganza will be: Solo singer/guitarist Casey,local music students 'For One Night Only' and the excellent Spiral Compass. Headliners will be Third Eye,a rousing local band who will certainly be blowing the cobwebs away with their Stooges/Who sound. Angus will be the compere for the evening and John will be DJ for the night and will be playing music 'till closing.

Doors will be at 7.30. Entrance will be free but get there early as the event kicks off at 8. It will be great to see everybody there. The last two Gaps have been brilliant successes.

The venue is the Forest Gate Hotel in...Forest Gate, East London! It's in the Clubhouse at the back of the pub. The Clubhouse has it's own bar. The pub is located at the corner of where Godwin Road meets Tylney Road, just down from the Wanstead Flats.
